Terms & Conditions - KASUUKU Rental Broker

KASUUKU Rental Broker (0731922999) is a platform operating in Kampala, Uganda, to help landlords advertise rental houses and connect with tenants. KASUUKU is currently operating in a test and introductory period while the platform and its services are being developed and improved.

Important Notice - Test Mode

The KASUUKU app is currently in test mode. During the first year of operation, the KASUUKU service is being provided as an introductory service to both landlords and tenants.

After the first year of operation, KASUUKU intends to begin charging a 5,000 UGX brokerage/service fee, as applicable to both landlords and tenants using the service.

Before the paid service begins, KASUUKU will communicate the applicable fee, who is required to pay it, and the available payment methods.

2. Brokerage / Service Fee

During the current first-year test and introductory period, landlords and tenants may use the KASUUKU service without the 5,000 UGX brokerage/service fee.

After the first year of operation, a 5,000 UGX brokerage/service fee may apply to landlords and tenants using KASUUKU services. The applicable fee and payment requirements will be communicated before the paid service begins.

The brokerage/service fee is separate from rent, security deposits, utility payments, or any other amount agreed between a landlord and tenant.

3. Role of KASUUKU

KASUUKU is a broker and marketing platform only. We do not own the houses advertised on the platform. Listings are provided by landlords or other property providers and are intended to help connect landlords with tenants.

4. Cooperation with Local Rental Agents & Brokers

KASUUKU cooperates with local rental agents and property brokers in towns and communities across Uganda.

Local rental agents and brokers can work with KASUUKU to help connect landlords, tenants, and available rental properties through the platform. This cooperation is intended to help local agents and brokers reach more customers and participate in the growing KASUUKU network.

If you are a rental agent or broker, we encourage you to apply to work with KASUUKU. Approved agents and brokers may receive opportunities to participate in the KASUUKU rental network, subject to applicable requirements and agreements.

5. Business & Shareholding Opportunity

KASUUKU is looking for business people and interested investors who would like to participate in the growth of this new and developing business.

The current stated price of one KASUUKU share is 1,000,000 UGX (one million Uganda shillings).

KASUUKU is looking for managers and field agents in towns and communities across Uganda.

KASUUKU is not responsible for the independent actions, representations, or conduct of landlords or tenants.

For Landlords: You are responsible for screening prospective tenants and should request appropriate identification and supporting documents before entering into a tenancy arrangement, such as a National ID, passport, LC1 letter, next-of-kin contact, and employment information where appropriate.
For Tenants: You should physically visit the property, verify the landlord's identity and authority to rent the property, request appropriate identification, and obtain a written tenancy agreement and payment receipt before making any payment.
KASUUKU does not collect rent, deposits, or security fees on behalf of landlords. Never send rent or deposit money to KASUUKU. Payments relating to a tenancy should be made directly to the landlord only after appropriate verification and agreement.
KASUUKU is not responsible for fraud, financial loss, property damage, eviction, disputes, or other disagreements arising between landlords and tenants.
Listings are provided by third-party landlords or property providers. Photos, descriptions, availability, and prices may change without notice.

8. Prohibited Content and Activities

Users must not submit fake or misleading listings, pornographic images, abusive or insulting language, or other unlawful or inappropriate content. KASUUKU reserves the right to remove or disable listings that violate these Terms.

9. Commissions

Any broker commission is separate from the KASUUKU brokerage/service fee. Where applicable, any additional commission should be clearly communicated and agreed before payment.

11. Agreement

By posting a house, viewing a listing, advertising through KASUUKU, applying for a position, applying as a rental agent or broker, or contacting a landlord or tenant through the KASUUKU app or website, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and the KASUUKU Privacy Policy.
